About UwFilmDigitaal
Our company UwFilmDigitaal was established to meet a clear need. This is because it is about safeguarding and preserving footage and sound. This allows us to preserve memories that have been recorded on Cinefilm, Videotape, Photo and Slide material as well as all sound carriers for the future.
Videotapes are often several decades old, which can seriously reduce the quality of these videotapes. Interference stripes, snow, or other irregularities may occur when the quality of the captured footage is reduced. This partly depends on the quality of the videotape and the way in which it has been stored. Videotapes are best kept at a constant temperature and humidity, e.g. in a cool dry place.
For cinefilm it also applies that image and sound loss can be perceived due to aging. With cinefilm spots ‘splashes’ can also occur in the film material. This is often caused by a kind of fungus that settles between the outer layers of the cinefilm material. Cracks can also occur in the material.
Because most households no longer have a properly functioning videorecorder or camcorder where the videotape can be viewed, we have invested in professional equipment to be able to realize this for you.
We treat your images with care and will do our utmost to deliver the best possible quality. For this our professional video recorders are equipped with a Time Base Correction (TBC) to provide the most stable footage possible. If videotapes are too bad we will notify you. You can then decide whether we convert it to digital or not.
In addition to converting analog videotapes to digital carriers (DVD, Blu-ray, hard disk or USB stick), we can also provide your footage with text and titles. We can remove bad parts and, if necessary, assemble images in sequence. The end result is then delivered on the digital medium. These matters must be requested in advance so that we can make a cost estimate.
